Scrunched Magic

Jessica Shekhtman

Scrunched up tiny streets, with abundant life.
Umbrellas draped over every checkered street.
People crowded, yet incapable to complain.
Masks of all colors to conform anyone into a ball attendees.
Claustrophobia is distracted by seemingly small alleys.
The Rialto bridge, leads to another plentiful adventure.
Medieval clothe dryers, yet modern to sight.

Each whimsical word, speaks a new tale.
Sorbet ice cream, a soft fruity welcoming taste.
Peacock skinned water shimmers in the luminescence.
Showers of rain droplets, paints a story.

Small, but enough to lose yourself with every step.
Each voice echoing in the thin canals, a pure gift.
Lively canals ruffle in the midnight, after all the lanterns are napping.
